Austin Commons is a program for Austin's non-profit community that appears on cable television and the Internet. It is produced and distributed by channelAustin as a service to Austin and to build community.
Production
Austin Commons is produced on scheduled Mondays in channelAustin's studios. Programs are recorded on Mondays between 1:00 and 5:00 pm. Four non-profit organizations will have up to 14 minutes to tell stories to our community about their missions and their good works.
Distribution
Four 14 minute segments are packaged into an hour long program that premiers and encores each week on Austin's cable channel 10. Each 14 minute segment is also published on the web and is linked to channelAustin's homepage. The non-profit also has the option to link to this web version.
Cost and Benefits
For a fee of $50, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization receives valuable air time, a DVD copy of the segment, and a version published to the Internet.
