How to join channelAustin?
Attend Monday Night Intro / Orientation
Any resident of Austin is eligible to obtain a Producer ID, enroll in low-cost training workshops, become certified to check out equipment and produce programs for television.
STEP ( 1 ) ORIENTATION SESSION
- Attend an Orientation Session
- Visit to channelAustin Mondays from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
- Orientation is valid for 2 months
STEP ( 2 ) OBTAIN A PRODUCER ID
Join as an Individual or Organization
- Bring Photo ID (i.e. Driver License, Passport)
- Bring proof of area residency (i.e. utility bill, car insurance)
- Pay Producer ID fee ($100 per year; $55 per 6 months; $40 per season)
STEP ( 3 ) ENROLL IN LOW-COST TRAINING
- Consult with Training Director for advice on training sequence
- Call Producer Services to register for courses
- Complete training and become certified to use equipment and studios
STEP ( 4 ) COMPLETE TV101 COURSE
- Before making any reservations or submitting any programs
STEP ( 5 ) START PRODUCING PROGRAMS
- Produce taped or live shows
- Produce series or non-series programs
- Air on cable channels 10, 11, or 16
